All chemicals currently used for pest control are safer than those used in the past. However, there are still risks involved with these chemicals, particularly to small children, people with asthma and other breathing conditions, and household pets (especially fish and birds). Even healthy adults can suffer some ill-effects from exposure to these chemicals over a prolonged period of time. This is attenuated by the traditional pest control method of applying as much chemical as possible to as wide an area as possible.

The first step in reducing the risk to your household is integrated pest management (IPM). IPM is the practice of using only enough product as necessary in specific areas, as well as non-chemical products such as glue traps, to eliminate pests within the home. We apply our products to specific, high-traffic areas such as window and door frames, wall voids, and around plumbing. Compared to the traditional method of baseboard spraying, IPM puts far less chemical into your home, while more effectively combating the problem.

All of the products used in our standard interior pest control services are made from naturally plant materials such as chrysanthemum flowers, mint, peanut, and boric acid. (Please note that the allergic reaction-causing elements of peanut are removed during the formulation of our products, so they present no danger to those allergic to peanuts.)

These green products, because they are created from safe compounds that we are already in contact with every day, present little to no risk, which cannot be said for traditional chemicals and methods, and, as an added bonus, are significantly safer for the environment.
